EU-Africa partnership: A new model?

EU-Africa partnership: A new model?

2020 will be a decisive year for the relationship between the European Union and Africa. The von der Leyen Commission, the expiration of the Cotonou Agreement in 2020 and the African Continental Free Trade Area and will all be determining factors in shaping a new partnership between both continents. Business leaders, politicians and experts have called an evolution of the relations toward a new sustainable and inclusive alliance. Indeed, with the EU being Africa’s main economic partner, both continents’ futures remain linked and it will be essential for the EU and Africa to develop a strong, sustainable and mutually beneficial partnership to harness the common economic opportunities and challenges. The future of the EU-Africa partnership will be the overarching theme of the EU-Africa Business Summit.
